Interested in donating?

The holidays are fast approaching!

Our office would like to give back this holiday season.  We are collecting canned goods beginning November 18th, through December 19th.  The canned goods will be collected in our office during business hours, Monday through Thursday from 8am to 5pm (we do close between 1 and 2pm daily for lunch).  All canned goods will be donated to the IFC (Interfaith Council) food pantry.  If you would like to learn more about the IFC food pantry, click here http://www.ifcweb.org/services/food-pantry

Thank you.....

As many of you are aware of, our office suffered a devastating loss on June 24, 2013.  Drew Rockett, our dental assistant and front desk coordinator, passed away unexpectedly.  Drew had been part of our practice family for over ten years.

Below is a copy of her obituary:

Drew Anne Rockett, 52 years old, of Pittsboro, North Carolina passed away at her home on Monday, June 24, 2013.  She was born in San Diego, California to the late Russell Cederlund and Berlin Mills Cederlund.

Drew is survived by her husband Greg Rockett; her children and step-children, Taylor Emerson of New Orleans, Louisiana, Corey Emerson of Greenville, North Carolina, Ellery Emerson of Wilmington, North Carolina, Robert Rockett and wife Sabrea of Pittsboro, North Carolina; Rachel Rockett of Carrboro, North Carolina; her grandson, Gavin Blu Rockett of Pittsboro, North Carolina; and her brothers, Doran Cederlund and Joel Johnson and sister, Palmer Watts.  She was predeceased by her daughter, Schuyler Emerson in 2012.

Drew’s life was devoted to caring for others.  She touched many lives that were blessed to know her bright smile, infectious laugh and caring manner.  She deeply loved her family and cherished many special friendships.  She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend who had a special place in her heart for children and animals.  She loved daisies, sunflowers, roller coasters and the rain.  Drew was known for her creative spirit and talent for crafting, cooking, and healing stray or injured animals, many of whom became permanent residents in her home. Drew was a special person that will always be remembered.  She has found peace.

The family will receive visitors at the Rockett home in Pittsboro, North Carolina on Saturday, June 29 from 4:00 to 6:00 PM.   At 5:00 PM, visitors may offer special memories or remembrances of Drew during an informal memorial service.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers donations may be made to Piedmont Wildlife Center or your local SPCA.

We would like to say thank you for all of your support and thoughtfulness during this difficult time.  Although it has been hard to adjust, we are grateful to have such community support.

Thank you.

Happy New Year! A note from Dr. T...

Happy New Year to all.  I hope the holidays have been great to each of you.

A little traffic update for our office.
For those who have not been out here in a while, there continues to be a lot of work on Weaver Dairy Road.  Obviously those in charge of our roadway system have spent a lot of time and money correcting a problem that did not seem to exist in the first place.
With that in mind, there have been some changes to Weaver Dairy Road that impact both arriving and departing our office.

Arriving:

If you are arriving from MLK / Airport Road, things are still the same.  Leaving may be different, however.
If you are arriving from Weaver Dairy Road heading toward MLK, you will not need to turn left at the new main entrance to the shopping center which is before reaching the banks.  You can no longer turn left onto Banks Drive.  You will then turn right behind the bank and then left onto Banks Drive.

Departing:

If you are heading to MLK from the office, you can no longer turn left onto Weaver Dairy Road from Banks Drive.  You have two options.  You can turn left onto Banks Drive, then right before the bank, left at the new main entrance, then take your chances making that left onto Weaver Dairy Road.  I expect there will soon be a stop light there.  I have seen many turn right onto Weaver Dairy from Banks Drive, then U-turn, but there is now a sign saying no U-turn.
Your better option is to turn right out of our parking lot, then right on Westminster to the stop light at MLK where you can go either direction, right towards I-40 or left towards town.

If your departure has you turning right onto Weaver Dairy Road, you can still do so from Banks Drive.

I wish everyone a happy and healthy 2013.  We look forward to seeing you soon.
